Hand Patina or Anticatura is a process of intentionally aging and coloring leather shoes by applying various techniques and materials to the surface. Hand Patina is an art crafted and designed for shoes by Olga Berluti, a member of the famous French brand Berluti which took the world by storm in the 1980’s. Hand coloring of shoes was then a fairly new thing in the world of luxury shoes and leather products.
Crafting with patina is a truly unique art form. It starts off as unfinished crust leather, carefully tanned and prepared, before being hand-dyed for an aged look that stands out from the rest. An expert touch leads to vibrant results like no other!
